Private residence recognized by the Canton Ticino and the health insurance companies, partnered with the social institutes of the city of Lugano and with the municipalities of luganese and other districts of the Canton.

The structure has 85 beds and is part of the cantonal socio-sanitary network for care and care for elderly people or with disability and is the only medical home in Ticino with a department dedicated to people with Parkinson disease.

Villa Santa Maria is located in Savosa, on the outskirts of Lugano, in a quiet and sunny setting. The house, characterized by a white tower of the early 20th century, is surrounded by a large and lush garden. Inside, it houses a Catholic chapel with artistic windows of Fra’ Roberto Pasotti.

Rooms

The residence has single and double rooms, with or without terrace, all sunny and with panoramic views, equipped with bed and multipurpose bedside table, call device, services, cable TV, telephone with direct selection and internet connection.

The new rooms of the Parkison department are structured with accessories for assistance aimed at pathology disorders and motion detectors.

Parkinson's unique department in Ticino

Villa Santa Maria has developed a unique socio-sanitary offer in Ticino for people no longer completely self-sufficient due to the evolutionary disorders of Parkinson’s disease.

The new department, opened in January 2015, is able to accommodate people in a single or double room and offer assistance and care aimed at the difficulties of the disease, comfort and safety for quality of life and support for residual autonomy.
