About Velo Lang
The owner and legendary chassis builder of Velo Lang is Alois Lang. It builds custom racing bikes superlight since 1958. In 1963, he opened his shop in Bahnhofstrasse 65 in Romanshorn. The company has its own design, sandblasting and painting department.
The first important order of custom racing bikes was made with the German national team for the entire team in the early 1970s. He led several cycling teams on his own. He designed over 4,000 mass racing bikes for professionals, amateurs and amateur athletes, including the lightest mountain racing bike for Beat Breu in the early 1980s, with a weight of less than 7 kilos, which even amazed Eddy Merckx at the Tour de France.
Alois Lang holds the title of "Master Framebuilder" of the internationally renowned TI Reynolds tube manufacturer of Birmingham, England, and is one of the ten people in the world officially authorized to work Reynolds tubes of type 753 (a molybdenum-manganese alloy with a thickness of the pipe wall of 0.3 mm). Alois Lang is still active today and supplied in Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Liechtenstein, France, Italy, Netherlands, United States and Australia. To date, more than 600 wins were achieved with LANG racing bikes.
