About Swiss Eye Centre

Swiss Eye Centre for Ophthalmology and Glaucoma is a specialized ophthalmology centre, dedicated to the management of patients with eye disorders and more specifically glaucoma and cataracts.

Our mission is to improve the vision and quality of life of our patients by putting together three fundamental pills of medicine: specially care, research and teaching.

Our independent practice is committed to innovation and excellence in ophthalmic dumping and the management of glaucoma and cataracts. Our main objective is to develop and perfect the treatments offered as well as the advanced and laser techniques.

Glaucoma is an evolutionary disease that can lead to blindness and affect more than 2% of the population over the age of 40. Swiss Eye is a reference in Switzerland for the treatment of this condition. Glaucoma treatment has an adverse effect on the eye surface. At Swiss Eye, we take care of both, implementing the most advanced therapies and continuing research on these two common diseases. The quality of life of the patient is greatly affected by pharmacotherapy and is an important issue in the management of glaucoma. We are developing less invasive surgical techniques to solve this problem.

Cataract is the opacification of the lens, a very slow phenomenon that occurs throughout life. From a biological point of view, cataract is known to result from the activation of an enzyme, kynurenineaminotransferase. This enzyme, the induction of which takes place around the age of 20-23 in humans, will oxidize the lens and lead to an increasing diffraction of the light responsible for a glare. Some of the consequences of this diffraction are well known to all of us, such as the difficulties of night driving in the rain from about 35 years old and dazzling.

Glaucoma is an evolutionary disease that can lead to blindness and affect more than 2% of the population.
