The heat pump is a heating system that uses the ambient heat to heat the inside of a building. Basically, it works as a refrigerator that transports heat from the inside to the outside, but in the opposite direction. A heat pump consists of a compressor, a refrigerant, a evaporator and a condenser. The coolant evaporates in the evaporator, absorbing heat from the environment. The compressor compresses the gas, increasing the temperature of the refrigerant. The heat generated is then transferred to the building heating system in the condenser.
