Ophthalmologist, researcher and glaucoma specialist,Dr Gillmannis a graduate of the universities of Paris La Villette (March), Newcastle (MBBS), London (MBA), Lausanne - UNIL (MD), Kingston (PhD) and Harvard Medical School (PgCert MM).

A formation Honorary Fellow at London's Moorfields Eye Hospital, where he received extensive training in complex cataract and glaucoma surgery, he is also a researcher and instructor at Stanford University, USA. He was recently named one of the world's Top 0.5% glaucoma specialists by the ExpertScape website.

Editor of the book "The Science of Glaucoma Management", he has contributed to the writing of several texts and published over 50 scientific articles on the subject, including a theses on personalized glaucoma management. His work, mainly dedicated to minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS), neuroprotection and personalized care, has been presented at numerical conferences and featured on the front pages of several high-impact magazines and journals such as Nature's Eye and the British Journal of Ophthalmology, and has received funding from the BrightFocus Foundation and the Swiss Glaucoma Research Foundation.

Dr. Gillmann also held at the Universities of Liverpool and London, where he received an award for academic excellence. He is a frequent speaker at national and international conferences. In addition to his clinical activities, he has dedicated part of his research to improving the quality of care and patient experience in Swiss healthcare services. In particular, he has published an architectural theses on the interconnections between hospital design and patient perception.

Aside from research, Dr Gillmann particularly enjoys the guitar, coffee, and walks in the snow with his dog.
