Hello, I am Carmen and I have been working as a psychologist in Lugano since 2007. Mother of two teenage children, lover of travel and dance, love nature and kindness.

Training:

I trained in psychology in Geneva and Lausanne. I later attended the Mara Selvini Palazzoli school of family psychotherapy in Mendrisio and Milan. I worked as a psychotherapist in the field of addiction and eating disorders and as a permanent member at a Regional Protection Authority (RPA). I have been a member of the counseling team for Pro Juventute and a trainer of childhood-related training days as well as experiential group workshops. I have participated in several personal development workshops through psycho-body techniques, clown therapy and meditation Vipassana. My ongoing trainings include training in active listening according to Thomas Gordon's method and the EMDR technique for desensitization from trauma. Since 2019, I have been training in the Gottman method for couples therapy and two Teacher Trainings in Hatha Yoga. During the same period, my collaboration with the Swiss Red Cross Courses Sector also began, for which I have the opportunity to work on prevention (conflict, bullying and cyberbullying) in schools in the area.

Approach?

I studied at the Mara Selvini Palazzoli School. I have a systemic training, my approach is oriented towards researching the different factors of growth of the individual: family, school, meaningful relationships. We trace life history together and go over the different roles that the person has been in over the years. This allows one to better understand one's current discomfort, making sense of it within one's own history.
