This small and iconic café bar in Mittlere Strasse 26 in Basel has existed for almost twenty years. Alfons Schuwey - now with his team - offers you the authentic pleasure of Italian coffee for as long. The espresso is prepared on a hand-made Neapolitan lever machine by Attilio Bosco.

Visitors are offered two types of espresso to drink: Fourth Silver, a classic blend of espresso from South Italy - the mixture of the house, so to speak - and a special roasting that changes from time to time. In addition to the espresso, there are obviously all the specialties of coffee to which we are accustomed nowadays ;-)

In the early years, the 50 square meters also housed a small workshop, affectionately called "Ambulatorium". Here small repairs were carried out directly for customers and various machines were tested. Meanwhile, the coffee machine industry has been expanded and professionalized. The "small" workshop is now located on the back and there is another shop with workshop and showroom right next door.

For small intermediate appetites, there are currently prepared piadines, Roman pinewood or a homemade soup. For the most delicious, various cakes and homemade pastries.
